Wallpaper can give a room a personality that paint cannot. A bold pattern behind a bed, a quiet texture in a hallway or a printed paper in a small powder room all change how a space feels. Hanging it well takes planning, a smooth wall and patience at the seams.
We install wallpaper in Osoyoos homes, from a single feature wall to every wall in a room. Before we begin we look at the surface, the pattern repeat and the layout, and we put the plan and the prep in the written quote.
What a hanging job covers
- Checking the wall for cracks, texture, glossy paint and old adhesive
- Filling, sanding and priming the surface so the paper sits flat
- Planning the starting point so pattern joins land well in the room
- Cutting drops with enough extra for matching the repeat
- Pasting and hanging each strip, smoothing air out as we go
- Trimming around outlets, switches, window casings and ceilings
Choosing where paper makes sense
A vacation house is a good place to try something playful that you might not choose for your main home. A feature wall in a guest bedroom or a patterned paper in a bathroom can give a rental or second home a clear identity. The pattern should suit the light and the size of the room, so a small print often works better than a huge one in a narrow space.
Humid rooms need care. Bathrooms and laundry rooms call for papers rated for moisture, and good ventilation matters more than the paper itself. Tell us which room you have in mind, and we will say honestly if paper is a good fit or if a washable paint would hold up better.

How we hang paper
- Look and measure. We check the walls, work out how many rolls the room needs including pattern waste and note the details in a free written quote.
- Prepare the wall. Cracks and holes are repaired, the surface is sanded, and a primer or sizing coat is applied so the paper bonds and can be removed later.
- Hang in order. Starting from the planned line, each drop is trimmed, pasted, aligned with its neighbour and smoothed out.
- Finish and review. Edges are trimmed and wiped clean, we check the seams in daylight with you and remove all offcuts.

Wallpaper Hanging in Osoyoos: questions
Do I buy the wallpaper or do you?
Either. Many people choose their own paper, and we can tell you how many rolls to order. Always buy a little extra in the same batch.
Can you hang paper over textured walls?
Texture usually shows through, so we may recommend skim coating or a heavier liner first. We explain the options in the quote.
What is a pattern repeat?
It is the distance before the design repeats. A large repeat means more waste when strips are matched, which affects how many rolls you need.
