A good wallpaper job is mostly invisible craft. The pattern runs straight, the seams close up and no corner shows a gap. Hanging paper in a Lake Country home is a different skill from rolling paint, and we treat it as its own job with its own prep, not an add-on to a repaint.
The free written quote notes the wall measurements, the paper you plan to use and any wall repair that must come before it.
What we hang and how
- Feature walls behind beds, sofas and dining tables
- Full rooms, powder rooms and entry halls
- Pattern-matched paper where the repeat must line up across drops
- Wall preparation, including filling, sanding and sizing or priming
- Trimming around outlets, switches, windows and door frames
- Clean disposal of offcuts and backing
Choosing paper for a house full of daylight
Lake Country rooms tend to have strong natural light, which shows seams and uneven walls on a glossy or metallic paper. A textured or matte paper is more forgiving, and a large-scale pattern needs more waste to line up. We cover this before you order, because paper is often non-returnable once cut.
Order a little extra. Batch numbers differ between print runs, and a late reorder may not match colour. We tell you how many rolls to buy based on the room height and pattern repeat, and we measure before you place the order.
Allow time for the paste to dry before judging the result. Seams can look raised for the first day and settle flat afterward, and we explain what to expect before we leave. We also work to the manufacturer instructions printed on the roll, since each paper has its own rules for trimming, overlap and paste.
Think about outlets and switches before the paper arrives. Plate covers come off, power should be switched off at the panel, and we trim neatly around each opening. Pointing out shelves, mirrors or art you want removed beforehand also saves time on the day.

How a wallpaper job runs
- Measure and advise. We measure the walls, read the paper’s instructions and tell you how many rolls and what adhesive it needs.
- Prepare the wall. Surfaces are repaired, sanded smooth and sealed so the paste grips evenly.
- Hang drop by drop. Each length is cut, pasted, booked or hung as the paper requires, and aligned to the one before.
- Check the seams. Once dry we go over every seam and corner with you and fix any lifting.

Wallpaper Hanging in Lake Country: questions
Can you hang paper that I bought online?
Yes. Send us the product name or the instruction sheet so we can check the paste type and whether it should be hung dry or pasted on the wall.
Is peel-and-stick easier?
It can be for a small wall, but it does not forgive an uneven surface. We will say if it is a sensible choice for your room.
Will wallpaper work in a bathroom?
Only with a moisture-rated paper and a ventilated room. We would sooner recommend a different finish than hang paper that curls in six months.
