Drywall damage looks worse than it usually is. A fist-sized hole from a door handle, a crack running up from a window corner, a swollen patch where a pipe once dripped: each of these can be patched so it vanishes under paint, as long as the repair is built up and sanded properly.
We fix drywall in Naramata homes as part of a repaint or as a stand-alone job. Since we paint what we patch, we know what the finished wall will show, and we aim for repairs you cannot find with your hand.
Damage we repair
- Holes from door handles, anchors and removed fixtures
- Cracks along seams, ceilings and window corners
- Water-stained or bubbled sections that have fully dried
- Torn paper and gouges from furniture or moving
- Damaged outside corners and corner bead
- Patches left after wallpaper removal or lighting changes
- Sanding in controlled passes to keep dust down
Repairs that show up when the room is empty
Naramata sits north of Penticton on the east shore of the lake. Many owners find drywall flaws at the moment they decide to repaint or sell, when the furniture is gone and the light from a window rakes across the wall. That low light is the best test of a repair, so we check our patches the same way before we call them done.
If water caused the stain, the source has to be found and fixed first, or the damage will return. We will tell you if the problem looks like a plumbing or roof issue rather than a drywall one. Larger repairs are often bundled with our drywall repair service and a repaint of the room.
On a repaint, patch work is priced inside the same written quote, so you can see what is repair and what is paint. If the room needs only a repair and no painting, we will quote that on its own. Small jobs are welcome; a single hole gets the same careful finish as a whole wall.

How a patch gets built
- Cut back to sound board. Loose, crumbling or soaked drywall is trimmed out until we reach solid material.
- Fill and tape. Larger holes are backed and filled, seams are taped, and the first coat of compound goes on.
- Feather and sand. Further thin coats are spread wider than the damage, then sanded smooth so the edge disappears.
- Prime and match. Patches are primed so the finish coat does not flash, and we blend the paint across the whole wall.

Drywall Repair in Naramata: questions
Why does a patch sometimes show through paint?
Bare compound soaks paint differently from the wall around it. Priming the patch and painting the whole wall to a natural break prevents the shiny or dull spot.
Can you repair a ceiling crack that keeps coming back?
We can, but a crack that returns may point to movement or a joint problem. We will explain what we see and use flexible methods where they help.
How long until I can paint after a patch?
Compound needs to dry between coats, which can take a day or more depending on thickness. We build that into the schedule.
