An exterior repaint protects the siding, trim and fascia of your Oliver home, and it only lasts if the surface underneath is sound. We spend more time preparing than painting, because paint laid over chalky, dirty or flaking material will let go long before it should.
Our work covers wood, fibre cement and vinyl-friendly trim details, plus soffits, fascia, railings and doors. The quote names each wall and feature so you know what is in and what is not.
Outside surfaces we deal with
- Siding and trim washed to remove dirt, chalk and loose paint
- Scraping and feather-sanding where old coats have lifted
- Caulking of gaps at windows, doors, corners and trim joints
- Spot-priming bare wood and stained patches before finish coats
- Fascia, soffits, gutters’ painted faces and eaves
- Front doors, garage doors and exterior railings
Timing the work around the weather
Weather decides exterior scheduling more than anything else. Exterior latex generally should not be applied below about 10 C, and the wall surface temperature matters as much as the air, so a cold morning can push the start of a day. We check the product data sheet before committing to a window rather than guessing.
Oliver is a south Okanagan town set among vineyards and orchards, and exterior walls here take long hours of sun. We look at the sunniest elevation first, since that is where paint tends to wear thinnest, and we recommend extra care with the prep on that side.
Before we start, we also look at what the house is made of and how it drains. Water running down a wall from a blocked gutter, or a flowerbed piled against the siding, will undo new paint quickly. We point these out during the walkaround so the finish is not working against a moisture problem. Fixing a drainage habit costs little compared with repainting early.

From the first wash to the last coat
- Inspect the walls. We go around the house together, tapping boards and checking joints so the quote reflects what is actually wrong.
- Clean and repair. Pressure or hand washing, scraping, patching rotted spots and caulking happen before a drop of paint is opened.
- Prime and coat. Bare areas are primed, then finish coats go on in dry conditions, one wall at a time.
- Final look. We walk the exterior with you in daylight, touch up what shows, and clear away drop sheets and debris.

Exterior Painting in Oliver: questions
How do I know if my siding needs a repaint or just a wash?
If a hand rubbed across the wall comes away chalky, or the paint is lifting at edges and corners, it needs repainting. If it is simply dirty with solid paint, a wash may be enough and we will tell you so.
Can you paint around plants and a garden bed?
Yes. We cover shrubs and planting beds, tie back what we can, and keep drop sheets weighted so wind does not drag them across.
Do you handle damaged trim boards?
Small repairs, such as filling splits and replacing short sections of trim, are included in the plan when the quote lists them. Larger carpentry is flagged during the walkaround so there are no surprises.
